To reply or not to reply????
In the world of online dating... To reply or not to reply????
I am new to the world of online dating. I was with my high school sweetheart for 28 years then went straight into a relationship, not for love but for sex and the game of life. That relationship ended about a year ago but I held on to the idea of "maybe someday" Although it was over, I still hooked up with him about once a month just to get my fix. Wow, the stories I could tell you from that one but that's another blog. I've grown past the "for sex and the game" and given up on the maybe someday with him. I now want more out of a relationship, I want better for myself. Don't get me wrong, sex is still a big part of a relationship, I just don't want one based on it again. So I venture towards online dating.
I learned real quick that the pictures you post should not be the sexy pics unless that's what you're looking for. I was getting 100 emails a day and didn't give a shit about 90% of them. So I quit that site and moved on. Now I post normal, everyday pics and everything on my profile is about the real me and aimed at finding what I really want. I still get way more emails than I want and I'm still not interested in a big percentage of them which brings me to my question.
Do you take the time to answer every email with even a nice "hello" or does that make them think that you are interested so they keep trying to talk to you? Or do you just ignore those that you know you would not be interested in? Nice has gotten me nothing but a broken heart. I think I just answered my own question. What are your thoughts?
